Simple Solar Mobile Charger Circuit

Mobile phones need charging every day and in remote areas power is not always there; so solar charger is best option.

Sunlight is free and always available in day and small solar panels can make a charger for phone; also this project is about Simple Solar Mobile Charger Circuit

Circuit Working:

Parts List:

ComponentsValuesQuantity
Solar Panel5.5V, 245mA3
Boost Converter Module5V Output1
SwitchToggle SPST1
USB Pin / USB ConnectorStandard USB 1

As shown in the circuit diagram above, the circuit uses three solar panels and each panel has a rating of 5.5 V and 245 mA.

Connect the panels in parallel, as these parallel connection maintains the same voltage of 5.5 V while increasing the current; therefore, the total current becomes 245 mA + 245 mA + 245 mA = 735 mA.

After that output goes to USB port through switch and phone charges from USB port.

Formulas with Calculations:

Below mentioned is the formula for Simple Solar Mobile Charger Circuit:

Panel voltage = 5.5V (constant in parallel)

Panel current = 245mA

Total current = 3 panels × 245mA = 735mA

Output power = Voltage × Current = 5.5V × 0.735A = 4.04W approx.

Therefore, this is enough for charging a normal phone.

How to Build:

To build a Simple Solar Mobile Charger Circuit following are the connections steps:

Conclusion:

This Simple Solar Mobile Charger Circuit is easy to make, as it gives free power from sun.

In addition, it is small, safe and useful for phone charging and good project for students and beginners.
