We can charge phone or gadgets from sun with no wire and with no electricity bill; but this is possible only through solar power! therefore, this Simple Solar USB Charging Circuit help store sun energy in battery.
Battery give power anytime and only few parts needed: solar panel, diode, battery, USB module and is small and easy circuit which is good for DIY.
Also, camping, travel or just play with electronics this circuit give solar power to us.
Circuit Working:

Parts List:
| Components | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Mini Solar Panel 6V ,1 Amp | 1 |
| AA NiMH Rechargeable Battery | 4 |
| Schottky Diode 1N5817 | 1 |
| USB Connector Female | 1 |
| Battery Holder | 1 |
| On Off Switch | 1 |
To begin with, solar panel make DC power when sun light touches it.
Then diode 1N5817 let current go only from panel to battery and then diode stop battery power go backward to panel at night.
After that, battery keep and store the energy and then USB output use battery power and make 5 volt for phone or device.
Also, panel charge battery, battery give power to USB and diode keep system safe and then switch turn USB power ON and OFF by hand.
How to Build:
To build a Simple Solar USB Charging Circuit follow the below connection steps:
- First, collect all the parts as shown in circuit diagram above.
- Next, solar panel positive go to diode anode side and diode cathode side go to battery positive.
- Then battery negative go to solar panel negative.
- After that, USB module positive input connect to battery positive.
- Also, USB module negative input connect to battery negative.
- Further, USB output port feed mobile or gadget.
- Finally, place switch on the battery positive wire going to USB module input.
Conclusion:
Overall, this project is for Simple Solar USB Charging Circuit, as it show basic renewable charging idea.
Solar panel charge battery and battery power USB device and then diode protects the system; moreover circuit is good small project for learning solar energy.
