Make ones light move with music.
This small electric project help to control light using music sound.
Just put it in normal plug and smart parts inside make light blink with music beat.
Maybe it uses a mic to hear sound booster or to make signal strong and one special switch tells the light what to do.

This design show how to make sound control light circuit.
Light brightness go up and down with music sound from microphone.
People use this in disco, party or bar for fun blinking light with music.
Old way lights connect straight to speaker.
But this was bad idea as big sound can hurt light or light mess up the speaker.
This new circuit use microphone to listen sound not connect to speaker, so it is more safe.
Circuit have two parts: one power supply near microphone amp and one part to control light.
Capacitor C2 and C3 drop power voltage like divider.
Diode D1 and D2 change AC to DC (only take positive side) and L1 and C1 help stop voltage spike.
Important to use of 2 pin mic not 3 pin mic.
Be very careful circuit work with big voltage and current and all parts must be strong enough for safety.
Use plastic knobs and shaft for P1, P2, P3 (the turning things).
Microphone must connect with shielded wire.
All wires go to main power or light must be covered with heat shrink tube.
Circuit box should be plastic, no need of metal outside.
Triac heatsinks have power too dangerous no safety gap from main power.
Each triac cannot handle more than 400W too much power can break it.
Formula:
To make 220V light move with music we must change music sound into control signal.
This signal can make light turn ON / OFF or change brightness with beat or loudness.
Mostly we use something called envelope detector (also say level detector).
It check power of audio signal over time.
AC signal power is like this formula:
P(t) = V(t)2 / R
where:
- V(t) is sound voltage at that moment
- R is resistance in the circuit
We use capacitor C to smooth signal and turn it from fast AC to slow DC this help control light better.
The speed of this smoothing depend on formula: τ = RC
This tell how fast signal follow music change.
This method is basic way to build music control light using 220V.
But one can change things based on what it needs.
How to Build:
To build a Simple Music Controlled 220V Light Circuit follow the below mentioned steps:
Get All Parts:
- Gather all the required parts that are needed as per the circuit diagram like resistors, capacitors, diodes, electret mic, triacs, power supply, wires and potentiometers.
Build Power Part:
- Connect electret mic amplifier, capacitors C2 and C3, diodes D1 and D2, also L1 and C1 like in circuit picture.
- Be sure good isolation and use strong parts that can handle high voltage and current.
Build Light Control Part:
- Connect triacs and potentiometers P1, P2, P3 same like in diagram.
- Use only plastic knob and plastic shaft on potentiometer for safety.
Connect Microphone:
- Use protected shielded wire to connect mic to circuit.
- Check with the connection are tight and grounded good.
Connect Power and Lights:
- Use shrink tube to cover all wire that go to power and lights.
- Do not let metal stick out from box it can be dangerous
Test and Fix Problems:
- Turn ON the power and test the circuit.
- Turn knobs to see if lights blink with music.
- If something is not right than check and fix it.
Put Circuit in Box:
- Put all inside plastic box to keep safe.
- Be sure no metal part are outside all things must be fixed tight.
Be Very Careful:
- Triac heatsinks have electricity which might be very harmful
- Check isolation between power line and circuit.
- Each triac must not go more than 400W if it passes than it can get damage
Test One More Time:
- Check again if all circuit parts are working good and safe.
Install Final Place:
- Fix the circuit at the location where needed and check if there are no danger around.
Important Note:
